Israel-based Bright Data is one of the world’s leading online data collection companies, working with thousands of global businesses – including multiple Fortune 500 companies. Owned by a UK private-equity house, they were keen to showcase their expertise in relation to the National Data Strategy (NDS) that was published by DCMS late in 2020. With little prior experience of engaging in UK policy, they asked Showrunner to help carve out a position in UK Government circles.
Our first step was to work closely with Bright’s senior team in putting together a response to the DCMS consultation on the NDS, capturing a set of compelling policy messages that related the company’s services and expertise directly to the Government agenda. We then brokered a set of partnerships with highly respected Whitehall players, including the Institute for Government and the Enterprise Forum. Finally, we made sure that Bright’s engagement with the NDS won the attention of the right audiences through a targeted PR campaign.
Thanks to Showrunner’s work, Bright Data is now playing a full part in the roll out of the NDS. The company has been invited by DCMS to be part of the NDS Forum that has been set up to guide implantation of the strategy; their CEO regularly appears on panels alongside Ministers and officials, and public sector and tech industry trade press coverage has highlighted the value that Bright is bringing to the process. Showrunner is now helping Bright to build on this by generating partnership opportunities with multiple public and third sector bodies in the UK.
