Abellio London Bus have made a huge commitment to the environment with the electrification of their bus depots across London as part of a four-stage project. By the end of 2022 15% of their bus fleet will be formed of electric vehicles – making them one of the cleanest bus fleets in the UK. They approached Showrunner for help in winning thought leadership and values based coverage.
We worked with Abellio’s MD and leadership team to develop a strong sustainability message for the media, using key technical developments, appointments and events to create a credible and trusted voice. We built robust relationships with key stakeholders and partners to increase media and content opportunities. We developed and delivered PR campaigns that have secured quality coverage in industry, regional and national titles and have secured focused thought leadership coverage for MD, Jon Eardley. A recent feature in ‘Intelligent Transport’ highlights Jon’s expertise and commitment to sustainable EV transport.
Additionally, we worked with Abellio to lead thought on various policy consultations for Government and Transport for London. As a result, we have grown a positive relationship with Transport for London and secured a mayoral visit for the launch of Abellio’s groundbreaking new environmentally friendly technology.
Thanks to our work, Abellio is also enjoying increased levels of recognition within the public transport industry, having been named as finalists in the Route One and the Highways awards for technology and sustainability categories
